Tony is an expert in long-range city planning, including developing and administering comprehensive master plan; planning and execution of land use projects, such as transportation, conservation, residential, commercial, industrial, and community use; preparation of development proposals, construction plans and as-built plan applications for compliance with appropriate regulations and policies.

Tony possesses a strong ability to research and analyze data required for urban/infrastructure/landscape planning as well as development of general plan elements, environmental protection plans; compile, organize, and analyze comprehensive planning data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation.

He has a proven history in delivering complex planning projects, including analyzing & evaluating site and spatial plans, performing technical review for project plans and applications, making appropriate recommendations, developing contracts, and supporting execution.

Tony is deft at formulating strategies and road maps for business development and delivery, realigning business process and organizational structure to ensure operational effectiveness; arriving at resources & outsourcing plan, while setting & benchmarking performance standards across operations, and managing cross functional teams to efficiently contribute to key business objectives.

As a Landscape Architect and an Urban Planner, the hallmarks of Geoff’s work include an encouraging, progressive, enquiring and regionally sensitive approach to the design and constructions of landscapes across the world, particularly the Middle East Region. This has seen him gain extensive experience working on projects as diverse as desert reclamation zones, palaces, heritage sites and parks. In addition to this is his vast knowledge of international Project Management and Urban Planning, disciplines that have seen him involved in commissions.

During the course of his career, Geoff has been recipient of numerous awards including the Victoria Market Square (Civic Trust Award) China Town – Melbourne (Civic Trust Award & AILA Design Award and Cleland Zoo – South Australia (National Tourism Award & AILA Design Award) In addition to this Geoff has also won an Australian institute of Landscape Architect’s medal for management.

Frequently asked to address international conferences, Geoff is considered an authority on landscape management in the region and has held a number of influential positions including the role of National President of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. In addition, he has had numerous positions on boards including the university of Melbourne – school of Architecture & Built Environment Faculty Board and – Victorian Collage of Agriculture & Horticulture College.

Geoff has also been an adviser on the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) Course Accreditation Committee and the university of Adelaide – Arboretum and the Tree Research Center advisor to. Outside his practice as a landscape architect, Geoff had written innumerable newspaper and magazine articles and made regular radio guest appearances within the Australian and UAE media.

Peter Cummins

Associate Director

Peter – BTRP, FPIA, AFAIM, CPP – has been the Managing Director of Urban Systems Pty Ltd since 2004. Urban Systems is a Brisbane-based planning practice, with projects in Sydney and Melbourne, Asia and the Middle East.

Peter has held many senior government and private sector positions and was the City Planning Manager for Brisbane City Council from 1996 to 2004. During this time had oversight of the Brisbane City Plan 2000, urban renewal at West End and South Brisbane, planning for new towns and greenfields areas, the Australia Trade Coast port and airport complex and the development of public spaces including the Riverwalk project.

Peter has lectured in planning practice at the University of Queensland and in infrastructure planning for the University of Canberra’s Centre for Developing Cities.

Peter is one of Australia’s most experienced planners and has had leading roles in developing planning policy and metropolitan and regional plans for cities and regions including Melbourne, Brisbane, Geelong, Sydney, Wollongong, Mumbai, Dubai, Cebu and Riyadh.

He has been the planning project manager for a number of private residential, commercial and industrial projects in Melbourne and Brisbane including Shoreline, a 10,000-people urban village at Redland Bay and Metroplex Westgate at Wacol. He has recently completed reports on the Planning Implications of Market Development Trends in Inner Brisbane (for Economic Development Qld) and Value Capture in Public Transport (for Blake Wilmore, London).

Peter recently served as a city planning and implementation expert on the Central Riyadh Regeneration project – the largest urban regeneration project in the world – and is on the Board Advisory Committee for this project.

Hisham is currently a Professor of Architecture at King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and an adjunct professor at Freie Universitate, Berlin, Germany.

He holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from University of Edinburgh; UK, and Masters of Architecture from Pennsylvania State University; USA.

He has widely published in the areas of traditional architecture, old Muslim city, and sustainability.

He has conducted several international research and practical projects in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Mali, India, Germany, Austria, Italy, the US, Peru, Cuba, and Argentina.

Most of his projects have been in the areas of: Traditional Architecture & Urbanism, Islamic Architecture and Old cities, Informal Settlements, and Sustainable Development.
